A church which welcomes you in Jesus’
name, to grow and share in his love
Action Alliance Member
Our church welcomes everyone (no matter how young or not so young!) We aim to be a
church which is friendly and accessible for families, people of all ages and abilities,
those on their own and those in need.
All Saints and St Frideswyde were two churches which joined together in 2011. Our
parish is a big one covering Thornton, East Crosby and Little Crosby. We are passionate
about helping people know just how much Jesus loves them and how He longs for us to
respond to His love.
Worship at 9am is a quiet, traditional service that follows the Book of Common Prayer,
whereas worship at 10:30am is informal with music, followed by tea and coffee.
Children are very welcome, and there is space for them to sit and play in the creche at
the back of church.
We offer the opportunity to explore faith and fellowship outside of Sunday worship,
with two house groups meeting each week. These evening meetings are relaxed and
prayerful, and offer a chance to sit with a cuppa (and cake!) and explore the Bible and faith. Bible reading notes are also available in the form of the 'New Daylight' books sold at the back of church if you are unable to attend these groups or would prefer to do your own study!
Women's fellowship meets in the vestry of the church each Wednesday, 2:30-4pm, and is a group for women of all ages; a time for informal chat, games and refreshments. A group filled with fun and laughter!
We meet for Morning Prayer on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-10am throughout the year, and also partake in Ecumenical Prayer with four fellow Christian churches in Crosby every Thursday at 9:45am. Please see the ‘Prayer’ page of this website for more details and if you have any requests for prayer.
We have much to offer Children and Families:
•L23 Messy Church meets frequently for an hour of crafts and games followed by a short act of worship. Please see our Messy Church page for details.
•We have a group for Adults, Babies & Children (ABC) on Monday afternoons that runs during term-time. Please see our ABC page for details.
•Uniformed Groups – Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows meet weekly during term-time. Please see Uniformed Groups page for more details.
We also hold a variety of social events throughout the year. These include coffee mornings, barn dances, afternoon teas, picnics, and even whisky tastings! All welcome! To find out about our current social events, please see the 'What's On' page for dates, and details should be found by clicking on the church notice sheets available for you to download from that page.
We have a pastoral care team who provide services in local care and nursing homes, and who are also able to offer home communion for those who are unable to make it to church. We are a dementia friendly church too, and members of Sefton Dementia Action Alliance. We have a support group for those under 65 and suffering with dementia as part of the local Keystone network supporting cared for and caring.
We hope you enjoy travelling the Christian path with us! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us using the details provided on the ‘Contact’ page.
